Turkish yard Bilgin Yachts has announced that construction has begun on the Bilgin 220, a 67 metre on-spec project. Building began in June 2018 with the six-decked yacht currently slated for a 2021 launch.
Constructed from a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the yacht’s exterior lines and naval architecture have been designed by Unique Yacht Design. The exterior design has been described as “aerodynamic” and includes clean shapes and large, vertical windows. Key features include a touch and go helipad and large hull windows.
Chief executive and founder of Unique Yacht Design, Emrecan Özgün, said of the exterior design, “This yacht offers a “dolce vita” to its guests while balancing interior and exterior concepts. The exterior lines can be described as sexy, sharp, masculine, modern and most importantly timeless.”
The interiors, meanwhile, will be handled by H2 Yacht Design. The living room dining table will seat 16 while accommodation will be for 10 across five cabins. Located on the main deck, the owner’s suite will be equipped with a Jacuzzi, working space and private lounge. The four guest cabins meanwhile will sit alongside the crew quarters on the lower deck.
Bilgin Yacht chief executive İsmail Şengün added, “Bilgin 220 is a superyacht that has been designed to offer the owner a well-considered relationship between external and internal living areas in addition to a life spent between sea and land.”
