Putin ally Roman Abramovich docks his $500million mega yacht in Florida ahead of Trump’s arrival.
Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has docked his $500 million mega yacht in Florida just days before Donald Trump’s arrival.
The 533-foot Eclipse is docked just eight miles from the president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, where he is expected to spend Thanksgiving.
There is no word yet on whether Abramovich, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, will be meeting with Trump during his two week stay in Florida.
But the family has history with the billionaire, whose now ex wife Dasha Zhukova invited Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump to spend four days in Russia.
The boat is expected to leave by December 1, as The World – the ‘largest private residential ship on the planet’ is scheduled to arrive, Palm Beach Post reports.
The arrival of Abromovich in Florida comes amid increased scrutiny of the Trump administration and their alleged ties with Russia.
The 51-year-old recently announced he is divorcing Zhukova – his third divorce – and has been spotted taking some time out on the luxury yacht – the second largest private yacht in the world.
It boasts two helicopter pads, cabins for 24 guests, two swimming pools and a disco hall, as well as missile detection system.
The Eclipse reportedly requires 70 staff members to operate it and serve guests. Celebrities including Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry are among those who have partied on the boat.
He reportedly charges the rich and the famous $230,000 a day to rent the vessel.
Eclipse was built by the Blohm and Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, and delivered to Abramovich in 2012.
