When you think about Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) you tend to think explorer type yachts. Over the years this company has built many hulls in the explorer market and they think it is time to add another model to the line. It has mainly been yachts from the Nauta Air line or the more popular Darwin line that has been seen delivered around the globe. However, a new model is joining the ranks at CdM, the ‘Flexplorer’.
The first hull is already under construction, expected to be named “Aurelia 29” when delivered in 2020. The term Flexplorer really is a melding of the two words Flexible Explorer which suggests adding even more capability to their yachts. The aft lower deck of this yacht will be able to open-up, literally. Two side bulwarks can be lowered and create even more space. In fact, the amount of space is around 115 sqM (or 1,238 sq ft), plenty of space for entertaining. When in use to store tenders the space can handle 8.5-meters tenders.
CAT power is onboard with the ability to efficiently run her at a continuous 10-knots for 5,000 nautical miles The twin C32 diesels should be able to see a top speed of approximately 14-knots. The owners are not new to yacht ownership as they built with CdM before with the Darwin 102 “Galego“. The design of Aurelia 29 is by Hydro Tec and they have maximized different zones onboard for relaxation and entertainment value despite the boat being bred for long-range explorer cruising. Special features onboard include a gym on the aft lower deck which is naturally floodlit by six skylights in the floor of the aft main deck above. A jacuzzi is on the sundeck along with side-flanking of sunpads. An A-frame crane is hidden in the aft deck for tender use.
