Dutch design studio Vripack has teamed up with Nordhavn Yachts to develop a new concept, the Nordhavn 80. The first project to be unveiled from the new collaboration was launched this week during Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Aiming to push the boundaries of a traditional explorer superyacht, the 23.98-metre pocket superyacht features an exterior design by Nordhavn and interiors designed by Vripack. “The Nordhavn name has always been synonymous with the highest quality and capability and we are proud to collaborate with Vripack,” says Jim Leishman, vice president of Pacific Asian Enterprises at Nordhavn. “It is Nordhavn and Vripack’s mutual intent to offer our clients the most comfortable, safe and luxurious Expedition Class yachts available.”
The Nordhavn 80 will be able to accommodate up to eight guests in four cabins, including a master suite located forward on the main deck. The tri-deck Nordhavn 80 includes a large swim platform and two tenders, one located on the foredeck aft, and other bridge deck aft. Onboard, Vripack’s interiors aim to reflect ‘comfort, safety and luxury’ through a Scandinavian chic design with natural materials such as bare wood and neutral tones throughout ‘to make all those on board feel at home at sea.’
“Nordhavn’s DNA embodies a design philosophy that is a perfect match with our own ethos;, that is why we connect so well,” adds Vripack co-owner, Bart M. Bouwhuis. “We’re convinced that many exciting projects will emerge in the near future.”
