Falmouth based British architects and yacht design studio LP Design have created the 75-metre superyacht concept Galaxias. The design is for an explorer-style superyacht with contemporary and practical detailing.
The yacht’s features include a multi-storey interior atrium, expansive owner suite and charter-friendly stateroom arrangement. State-of-the-art safety systems and luxury leisure facilities can also be found onboard. Galaxias is accompanied by 10-metre main tenders, which designer Richard Liebowitz explains “In our experience, aside from a good bed and creative chef, the most important tool aboard for any vacation is a capable, big tender. It’s the action point of all the fun, once you’re at the destination. We actually design the yacht around the tender, one of the biggest elements aboard. In this design, we put these gorgeous craft on show, blatantly for display, right on the aft deck, where it’s most safe and practical to launch, with traditional, albeit automated davits. No tricks, no nonsense. Where’s the ‘infinity pool’ to greet you? Away from the public quayside, where it should be.”
The steel hull is powered by twin 16-cylinder diesel engines, which give a top speed of 18 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a 7,000 nm range at an economical pace.
