Edgaras Riabko won the first 2 heats of the 2019 UIM F2 European Championship in Zarasai on Saturday, putting him in a commanding position to retain his title.
Heat 1 was restarted after Frode Sundsdal had a spectacular crash. It certainly didn’t help pole sitter, Tobias Munthe-Kaas, who dropped to third after the restart, however after ending up third overall after 2 heats he was philosophical.
Edgaras Riabko commented after race: “Tomorrow is a new day and we push from third on the grid.”
Duarte Benavente’s second in heat 2 helped to elevate him to second in the overnight standings.
