The Okean 50 Flybridge Cruiser…ever heard of it?
It is one of the offerings from Brazilian yacht manufacturer Okean Yachts.
The yacht is a basic two level internal setup with accommodations on the lower deck and the main deck left for entertaining as well as the primary helm control area up front. She is a 49.8-footer with a 14.6-foot beam but the width can further be extended up to approximately 19.1-feet by way of the hull-sides folding out. Yes, that’s right, the Okean 50 can expand her deck space on the main deck that much further via these features.
The 49.8-footer is a nimble cruiser even with her 42,600 lbs displacement. Her top speed should be around 26-knots given that she is using Volvo IPS600s rated at 435 HP each. Her fast cruise speed is between 17 to 19-knots. Fuel onboard is 1,597 LT and fresh water capacity at approximately 700 LT. The Okean 50 debuted at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) representing the brand’s first major foray into the American market.
Onboard you will find accommodation for guests in three staterooms. There is a full-beam master suite midships. A VIP category cabin is forward towards the bow and there is also a twin cabin with bunk-styled berthing. A crew cabin has also been provided, you will find that towards the aft of the hull. Deck space is decent for a vessel of this size particularly when the hull-sides are extended, it can be used to spread out a few chairs or maybe a small sunbed or cushion. There is a swim platform to provide ease of access to the sea and on the flybridge there is plenty of seating under a translucent hardtop.
