The first hull in the Bilgin 263 series, the 80m/ 263ft motor yacht Tatiana has been launched at Bilgin’s facilities in West Istanbul Marina, Istanbul, Turkey.
Istanbul-based shipyard Bilgin Yachts has successfully launched its largest superyacht to date: the 80-metre Tatiana. As the first yacht to be completed from the Bilgin 263 range, Tatiana’s launch was commemorated in a private ceremony which took place at the Bilgin Yachts facility in the West Istanbul Marina. The yacht will now be outfitted ahead of her delivery in the spring/summer of 2020.
The 1,660 GT steel and aluminium yacht Tatiana marks a milestone for the Turkish yard, which is currently also working on another three units from the Bilgin 263 range. The second hull – which has already been sold – is on track for a 2021 delivery, after which the third hull is due to join her owner in the same year.
The 80-metre Bilgin 263 range is characterised by sharp exterior lines designed by Unique Yacht Design – who also completed her naval architecture – and a commitment to minimising its carbon emissions. Built in compliance with IMO Tier III certification, and featuring a special exhaust system that provides 100% clean air emissions, Tatiana has a remarkably eco-friendly outlook.
Emrecan Özgün, CEO and founder of Unique Yacht Design, described the design and comfort elements of the Bilgin 263 series as being “truly one-of-a-kind.”
He explains: “We created a very attractive yacht with a sleek and sexy profile while avoiding high dosage design clichés. The increase in living areas normally results in bulky designs. The Bilgin 263 has a design attitude that will dominate the yachting sector around the world. This will clearly make her a trendsetter among the steel-aluminium superyachts of today.”
Meanwhile, Tatiana’s H2 Yacht Design interiors showcase a rich blend of Macassar ebony, eucalyptus and marble, giving her a luxurious and modern interior ambience.
Toby Sturge of H2 Yacht Design explained: “The owner was asking for a layout that was unique to his own requirements and one that people would certainly remember and differentiate among many other 80-metre yachts. Together with the H2 Yacht Design team, we therefore focused on the owner’s wishes and turned them into a comfortable, luxurious yet functional interior. Timeless understatement is indeed the recurrent theme on board.”
Powered by twin MTU 16V 4000 M73 engines with 2,560kW each, the 80-metre yacht Tatiana cruises at 15 knots and can reach speeds of up to 20 knots. At half-load displacement, she has a transatlantic range of 5,000 nautical miles.
