Rossinavi begins construction on new 49M superyacht Project Lux

Italian yard Rossinavi has revealed it has sold and begun construction on a new 49 metre superyacht currently known as Project Lux. The sale was completed with the help of Javier Navarro of brokerage firm Zarpo Yacht.

With exterior design by Horacio Bozzo and interior design by Team For Design, the three deck long-range displacement yacht is set for a 2021 delivery and aimed at the American market.

Chief operating officer Federico Rossi described Lux as “born for comfortable, long and unrestricted navigation”. Specifically, it will be equipped to “face the adverse seas of the Pacific,” the yard said, and will have high comfort in terms of seakeeping and noise levels.

Power will come from a pair of 1450hp Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesel engines. for a top speed of 15 knots, cruising speed of 12 knots and range of 3,800 nautical miles.

Details remain scarce, with Rossinavi only providing a basic sketch of the yacht. However, the yard also revealed that the yacht will have an optional, large tender garage at the bow, leaving a spacious, entertainment area at the stern. Key numbers include an 8.8 metre beam and gross tonnage below 500GT.

The news comes after Team For Design presented another superyacht concept, the Phantom 62, for the Viareggio-based yard. Described as a “large and unique sportsyacht” with “sleek, strong lines and a slender silhouette”, the yacht features continuous window surfaces for panoramic views.
